Creating a blog is easy, but to be consistent and providing quality content regularly is hard. Content marketing is a great tool, which should be part of your overall marketing strategy. Blogging will boost your traffic, increase your leads and sales.

Creating quality content is key. To be effective, your content marketing strategy should be aligned to your startup’s goals. Building content around your strategy is important. Talk to your audience and find out their interests, select and guide your writings for showing passion towards your business, balance it between what you want to say and what your readers want to read. Build a buyer’s persona, so that you are clear about who you are talking to. Make sure you are producing quality content, not marketing content. Your content needs to be helpful not just for search engines but also the end users.
The first blogs should be focused on “How to” content or guides. How-tos work well and usually answer specific questions that your target audience is looking for. Going forward you can also include blogs about reviews from the influencers in the ecosystem.

Make the blog topics stand out
Your topic defines the initial interest of your audience, this is when they decide if they want to continue reading or drop off. Hence, the headline should be catchy, compelling, interesting, and funny. Also define the basic keywords related to your product you want to highlight in the entire blog. Make sure one of them is covered in the topic.
Create the content of titles in a way that it is shareable on all social media platforms. These catchy topics can help in redirecting maximum traffic to the blog or the website.

Be consistent in creating content
Be prolific, follow discipline and rigor in managing your blog. Schedule your posts so that the blog doesn’t overflow or isn’t inactive for a long time. Content marketing is a long-term strategy, so you need resilience and persistence. Short articles can be read quickly but long blog posts are generally preferred. An average blog post of 700-800 words is the benchmark for all blog lengths.

SEO Optimized Blog Posts
Even if you want your content to be specific for the readers, not for search engines, SEO optimization is still important. This makes it vital to identify these keywords. This keyword identification and optimization can be done using tools such as Google Keyword Planner.

Keywords optimization is an important content marketing tactic for 3 reasons:
– It helps discover the topics internet users are searching for in your product category.
– You get to understand what keywords they use for searching in your product category.
– You can use these keywords to find other content related to your products/posts.

Be careful to not overuse the keywords, the keyword density should not be more than 2% of the total number of words. You want to integrate the keywords into the text naturally without altering the meaning of the text.

Your title should attract readers, otherwise you will miss out on them even though your content is creative.

Clear and catchy titles should include the conclusion/inference that readers will obtain by reading the post or by using your product
D – Desire :
Create a desire for your product amongst the blog readers. Create the need for your product niche.
A -Action :
Every Post should end with clarity of action expected. It can be a link to the product guide, some other post or a call-to-action number/email link.
